Just gotta love a productive week… the main floor is done! Yay, except for a few tweaks and such. I still have the boyz rooms and the lovely basement which will become the boyz hang out place, games, movies, toys and the like. I am making headway in the craft room!! YAY!! My escape room. I’ve also decided to give away alllllll of my paperbacks. I think they’ve become more of a security blanket. Some I’ve had since 7th grade or so. It’s time they found a new home with someone who will read them and pass them on.
Still needs a few little tweaks but for the most part… Done! And yes… School has been canceled for the day, yes it is May.
She’s getting so big! And currently a tick magnet!
Boxes and boxes of paperbacks….. I’m keeping the hardbacks… but the paperbacks are outta here.
At least I know where I want all this stuff….
Awww… At least they are cute! I’m hoping to remember that today.
I hope y’all have had a great week. Blue skies and warm breezes to y’all… Till next time XOXO

My un-packing is going semi well… mostly. Found a leaky hot water heater while organizing the storage room… so now that part is on hold till the Mr. really fixes it or just replaces it. On to the craft room (yay) it’s coming along at least I know about where I want everything! (For the most part, anyway.) While setting up my sewing table, a cheap plastic card like table, inspiration struck, all those curtains I made for the old house… I suddenly knew what to do with them. Cover my table, out comes the glue, glue the fabric to the top, more inspiration, the varnish from the kitchen table. Let’s cover the fabric with that…. umm. Well, why not? So it kind of worked, maybe with a few more coats, minus the sanding of course.
Talk about ugly… boy was it. I’ve used it for all sorts of stuff, the hubby’s used it as a saw table. It should be said for a cheap plastic table it’s really held up well.
Fabric all glued down with the varnish pretty much just slapped on…. the ugly popped right through.
Here it is all dry. and while it didn’t work quite the way I had envisioned… I think it will work just fine. After a couple of more coats of varnish…. but maybe the spray kind.
And do notice the wall is now painted… yay!! Only the cutting in and 3 more walls to do. Till next time, XOXO
Last week was swamped and my week for projects that just ate up time, like it was Twinkies! Well, what projects you may wonder? A baby quilt (that I’ve had to do for a couple of months, can you spell procrastination?), Stripped the ugly kitchen table and re-stained it, made a cute planter outta an old chandler, and finished unpacking, (at least the main floor) Whew…I’m glad that’s over. On to the next projects that I hope I can spread out a bit, a couple of baby dresses, the Boyz’ rooms, the basement (that’s for this week!) A bird house sculpture, umm… oh the plans and ideas running through my head! I’m just having a blast!
It really wasn’t ugly.. just well-loved! Pretty banged up and just kind of sad.
Now, now its just pretty! I love the way the lighter stain brought out the wood grain.
Forgot 1… parents lunch!!
Picture this with some hot red drapey flowers. Hanging over the pond. 😉
Da baby quilt! Yay.. my first attempt at quilting and it has to be said, it really was a lot of fun!
For Mother’s Day I got a new lens for my beloved camera!! Woot Woot… takes fantastic pictures!! Gotta love when the little Boyz let me pose them for a bit.
More with the new lens, versatile isn’t it. Dandelions are a pain, but the are pretty too.
Well, I’m outta here. The basement is calling my name… “please come unpack me, and work your way into the craft room! Then I can get my sewing machine off the dining room table. Till next time XOXO
Our headboard is huge, I mean really, really huge. 6 ft tall and however wide a queen sized bed is. It would absolutely NOT fit up the stairs… nope not going, no way. The Mr. who is very handy… annoyingly so… tells me, “I’m going to cut it half.” You’re going to WHAT? My big beautiful headboard?? No Way… can’t we just store it and I’ll DIY a new one…(aww, the plans that rolled through my brain) Nope, he says, I’m cutting it half, besides where would we store it? Won’t go up the stairs… it really won’t go down the stairs. So we sleep on the mattresses on the floor for the first week, then Saturday rolls around, The Mr. pops over to Lowes to pick up a few things, to” fix” the headboard. Outside he goes and…. cuts the legs off the headboard. Not at all what I had envisioned him doing when he said he was going to cut it half. He hauls it up stairs (now that it fits) and proceeds to put it all back together and it must be said… True to his word, you can’t even tell.
Here it is already cut, I refused to watch him cut it.. (wimp)
Drilling pocket holes
Putting it all back together
Making sure it stays together
Isn’t he cute with power tools
Voila.. all done and you can’t see a thing.
I do have to say it’s nice to be married to a guy who can think outside the box and make it work. Until next time XOXO
