Busy, Busy, Busy

It’s been quite the weekend. Busy work, but have I started packing, yet… Nope! Not a thing and the house goes up Tuesday! To tell the truth I’m really not expecting to much foot traffic there are tons of houses for sale in our neighborhood. While I hope they can get it sold… it’s gotta to be a burden on them, I really dislike have to interrupt my routine! It’s only going to be a few weeks… I can do this! ūüėČ

So mostly this weekend I spent in my craft room! YAY!! New purse done, (the straps on the first just didn’t cut it.)

2014-03-30 13.25.27

New one… same design as the last.. but thinner straps, and maybe a smige bigger.

2014-03-30 13.25.57

Fun polka-dot lining

The Mr. decided my Goodwill table was ugly, just now! It’s been sitting there for months… and he decides now it’s ugly. ¬†(FYI, it’s not ugly… just well-loved) it does need some work but I’m waiting until we get moved and the weather warms up to have at it, not to mention I haven’t really decided what exactly to do to it. So off he goes to Lowe’s… Home he comes with bags from K-Mart, which is going out of business, and what do you think he got at K-Mart to help my ugly well- loved table… A table-cloth! In a really lovely color. Goes well with bench cushions but not so much the place mats… There is my next project along with finishing the pantry (all will move with us, Thank God!)

2014-03-31 09.08.32

Pretty.. Light and springy and more along the line of the colors I’m switching over to. Place mats… not so much.

2014-03-29 17.08.15

Random Liath picture, because I can.

On to our lovely spring weather……

2014-03-30 11.31.50-1

Look at all the spring falling from the sky….

That’s all there is, there ain’t no more, (at least for today) ¬†Have a great day all, until next time… XOXO

The Friday Five

I’ve been MIA for the whole week… Miss me? Yep, that’s what I thought. It’s been a strange week, The Mrs. Landlord was here with Ms. Realtor. I thought a day early, but nope, right on time! (I was a day off) So Ms. Realtor prolly didn’t get as many pictures as she wanted, (eh, Boys rooms!) Awww well, ¬†when and if she call for a showing it’ll be better. ¬†On that side of things, we did find a house we both agree on, it’s not the 1877 farmhouse that I had my little heart set on, (no I’m not pouting… anymore) But it’s a cute house that’ll let the boys stay in the same school. So no switching Doctors, or schools, or MMA! So all is good and we’ll be moving around May 1. Which means I need to get off my duff and start packing…. Yay!

See it's cute. Love all the trees... the flat yard and the laundry on the bedroom floor

See it’s cute. Love all the trees… the flat yard and the laundry on the bedroom floor

On to the rest….

The Friday 5

The first weekend of Spring! Yay… while I’m dreaming of temps in the 70’s or so. I’ll be happy with the almost 60 degree weather with some sun that we’ll be getting. ¬†Fingers crossed that Mother Nature got the spring memo that the solstice sent out! Attitudes have been adjusted thanks to a stern talking to from the Mr. So currently the 11 year old remembers he’s 11. It’s hard to be grown, when your an 11 year old BOY… all well he does have his reasons and I do understand them even if I don’t like them. Nicky Baby has had a somewhat better week.. more Greens than Yellows, 2 weeks on Green and I’ll let him get his Orange belt, (mean Mommy) However today is the Nicky Baby’s 7th Birthday so for today… he can do no wrong! ( ‘cepting be a twerp at school!) ¬†But I have faith in him! So tonight it’s off to Chuck E Cheese! Woot Woot, Now where are my earplugs?

2014-03-21 07.19.35

He is now 7… 7 years old! Happy Birthday Nicky Baby!

2014-03-21 08.34.11

Spring is coming… it’s just around the corner. Things are beginning to green up and the hardy flowers are starting to poke their heads up!

2014-03-20 16.05.08-1

These are fractions. No really they are… and he’s reducing them using a rainbow? They don’t do this in high school… or collage… or in real life. Why teach them this and then have to un-teach it later? (or in our case, NOW)

2014-03-21 11.08.19

I just love this stuff! Makes me look like I have hair!! A bit pricey… but well well worth it! Truly I love the whole line. Works great!

2014-03-05 00.03.02

It is if you want me to speak in whole sentences and not stab anybody with a spoon!

That’s my week… How was yours? Have a great day and a better weekend! Till next time XOXO

Burlap Changeable Wreath

OK, So I found a really cool paper flower on, no other than Pintrest, (of ¬†course) Loved the look, and the the springyness (new word for ya.) ¬†And thought to myself, it’d be a cool wreath for the front door, which was feel way under loved. I made lots… and lots of them. Could not for the life of me figure out how to string (glue) them together to form a wreath, boo hiss. So I put them up… Then once again on Pintrest.. inspiration struck. How about a Changeable Wreath, (Light dawns) Off to my handily placed Joann’s (right around the corner, less than a mile) where I got the rest of what I thought I needed which was a floral wreath form, 14 inches and 2 rolls of burlap ribbon, 2 1/2 inches wide. This is the first time I ever gotten out of Joann’s for under 20.00, (I’m not counting the fabric I also got, Sorry Honey!)

2014-01-31 12.12.12

The squares I cut out are 6 x 6 inches, Lots bigger than the original tutorial But as I had envisioned a whole wreath, I just went with it.

2014-01-31 12.12.25

Fold into a triangle

2014-01-31 12.12.40

Fold each corner up, to meet the center

2014-01-31 12.12.54

Looks kind of like a bird

2014-01-31 12.13.11

Fold the flap in half, so it points outward, both sides

2014-01-31 12.13.28

More bird like

2014-01-31 12.13.50

Fold the top part of the fold down even with the main part

2014-01-31 12.14.11

See

2014-01-31 12.14.29

This is the part that I found somewhat confusing, Open the folded in half part, and fold down the tip, on the fold mark you just did.

2014-01-31 12.15.02

Hopefully you can see what I did

2014-01-31 12.15.46

Pull together, to meet in the middle, spot of glue on the inmost petals… There is your first petal. Make tons more…

2014-01-31 13.36.43

Glue 5 petals together, I just a line of glue down each side, I glued 3 together then the last 2, and stuck it all together. See Easy Peasy. ūüôā

2014-03-16 17.18.45

Spot of glue in the center, add a bead (or not)… rhinestone would be pretty and add some sparkle.

I used newspaper (obviously) but you can use any kind paper you’d like. The first one took a bit of time, but the more I made the faster they went. I could do it while watching T.V so not a brain drain project. Once you get the hang of it. On to the second part of the project.

2014-03-16 16.01.58

Wrap you wreath from with burlap, you could use strips you cut, or the ribbon I got.

2014-03-16 16.04.26

I used regular old straight pins to hold the burlap in place. I’m gonna guess that T pins would have been helpful but I didn’t have any.

2014-03-16 16.05.00

All wrapped

2014-03-16 16.06.24

This part I just kind of winged. I made a loop, then pined down at the bottom of the loop.

2014-03-16 16.25.21

Twist the ribbon make another loop, pin. I do you a couple 3 pins, just to help keep it secure. Pin close to the bottom, the rest of the loops hid the pins

2014-03-16 16.27.59

See the pins at the bottom of the loop

2014-03-16 16.41.57

Keep pinning and looping all the way around.

2014-03-16 16.42.10

Here’s the way I grabbed the ribbon to loop it.

2014-03-17 16.19.02

All done!

To add the flowers I glued one flower to a strip of burlap, (lots of glue… stuck the flower in the center of the glue, then crossed my fingers) ¬†When it all dried, (yay, it worked) I nestled the flowers in where I thought it looked good, wrapped the burlap strip around to the back and used a few pins to hold it all together. Then when I get bored of that look I can change it out. ¬†Now off with you… It’s a beautiful day, Go Create! ¬†Till next time, XOXO

WIWW

Wooo… it’s time for What I Wore Wednesday… This one’s gonna be super quick, I’m still finding taking pictures of myself to be somewhat inane, so I’ve been semi slacking on that part. Not to mention most of it’s on repeat. I guess next week I’ll have to see what I can do about shaking things up. But that’s for next week, so here we go…

2014-03-17 12.19.23

Aw.. not going anywhere, not seeing anybody. No hair… No makeup… Give it a break day!

2014-03-18 12.15.12

Off to MMA

2014-03-19 10.23.56

Today, new hair… Can’t wait for the bangs to grow out!

That’s all there is, there ain’t no more. I’m off to start, finish a project that I hope to have ready for ya’ll tomorrow, I hope! Till then, XOXO

The Last Hurrah?

Hopefully this is the last hurrah for Winter! ¬†It is starting to feel like this winter is never ending, a few teaser days of beautiful, beautiful weather… warm, sunny, sit outside with my morning coffee days ¬†Then bam.. SNOW

2014-03-17 08.48.23

9 inches and counting

Enough with the weather already! It’s getting old, don’t you think? On to the rest of the story… (I miss that guy and his cool stories, Paul Harvey).¬†We had a lovely busy weekend… Sushi, belt promotion, new computer and a grounding. I think we hit every high and low we could manage this weekend.

Nicky Baby is grounded till they go back to school, which is not today! But possibly tomorrow. He has done so good at school till this week, he spent Monday and Tuesday on yellow, and Friday on Orange, which is what got him grounded. His teacher made a note to tell me he was sad and unhappy, of course he was sad and unhappy… he knew he’d be in trouble at home for his poor behavior, ¬†(but not sad and unhappy enough to quit being a twerp at school). So for the weekend, no staying up late, no electronics and no friends birthday party for my twerpy Baby! He still gets his Chuck E Cheese for his birthday, he did spend most of the first semester on Green, and that was the deal! A deal is a Deal!

The Mr. took us all out for Sushi Friday night! I love Sushi… and the presentation, is just amazing! I have a thing about pretty food (in the day to day making of it, I lose sight of that, but I love good plating) I think eating and the feeding of other should involve all your senses. After all feeding somebody is the most intimate thing you can do for somebody else, (outside the bedroom that is.) Plus it’s fun!

2014-03-14 19.46.10

How pretty is that? Not to mention delish!

2014-03-14 19.46.15

Eazy E, trying to decide if he’s brave enough to try something new, He did… He DID! A spicy tuna roll! Yay for Eazy E!

2014-03-14 19.58.20

J-Boy and the Spicy Tuna Roll… even though it looks like a rabbit tail!

2014-03-14 19.58.38

Nicky Baby just loves fried rice

Then off to Best Buy, (one of my favorite stores!) To I assume look around, gawk at all the cool electronics. Then the Mr. surprises me with ” ¬†We need a new computer” Well, let me tell you what I went directly to the Apple part and drooled… I’d really like to switch. But I’d have to re-buy all my programs starting with Adobe CS5 and I’m not will to shell out that kind of cash after shelling out that kind of cash. So back to PC we go, we looked at the all-in-ones, but while the are cool and touch screen, they are not upgrade-able and they are kind of like having a really big tablet. So pass on the all-in-ones, back to the regular old desk top… upgrade-able and dependable. ¬†Since I expect to have it for 10 years or better, upgrade-able and dependable is the best choice for us. Now all I have to do is figure out the new Windows 8.. or should I say 8.1.

2014-03-16 15.22.44

The new 8.1 with no start button! ūüôā

Saturday was belt promotions… Eazy E is now a Green Belt! No longer a beginner but an intermediate student, which will mean for him longer and ¬†more involved classes at a new time with a new instructor, Master C! I think he’ll miss Mr. D. But Master C will push our Eazy E out of his comfort zone where he’s been cruising at and make him work!

2014-03-15 09.49.58

Eazy E with Sr Master B, getting his green belt

Sunday was the best day of all….

2014-03-16 09.20.18

The Mr. and yes, he’s doing the dishes, after making a killer breakfast!

So how was your weekend?? Have a great day, and if you are where it’s snowing… be warm be safe. Till next time, XOXO

The Friday 5

Whew… Thank God that’s over… It’s been a week. Tons of pre-teen angst, not to mention the flipping attitude! Really, why did I think this wouldn’t start till Middle School? Oh joy, I guess they are starting younger and younger. Grrrrr… and just when I think I can’t take anymore…. he turns to me with a smile and I forget what I’m mad about! But the eye rolling has got to stop! It’s infecting all the boys… with Nicky Baby being the worst offender of all. (He doesn’t know he’s supposed to wait till I turn around to roll them eyes!) Mostly Eazy E waits… but I can feel it! ūüôā ¬†Seeing how we have all lived through the week…. Here’s the top 5 moments of my week
2014-03-14 12.19.58

I actually have a love dislike relationship with my Keurig, I love the convenience, the mostly quick cup and the never burnt coffee. I dislike filling the little filters, (it is a coffee hog), the price of the pre-filled little filters and the fact that I can’t make it any stronger.

2014-03-14 12.17.42

I love my tablet! Reading… playing games… Pinterest anywhere and everywhere.

2014-03-12 14.56.18

It’s getting closer…. soon to be done, I hope! Just have to zip through Joanna’s as I had a better thought on how to hook it all together.

2014-03-14 12.17.01

Looks can be deceiving! 66 degrees Wednesday… 16 degrees Thursday! But pretty

2014-03-08 01.25.42

Truer words… see it… believe it!

Till next week, XOXO

No crafts here, Just some Bloggers

With the weather being sooooo nice and warm, I’ve been spring cleaning, which means no craft room time, ;(. But I have a nice clean house…. for the most part. So instead of one of my crafts I thought I’d show you a few of my favorite crafty, DIY’ers ¬†bloggers. (Just FYI, none of these Ladies know who I am… or that I’m writing about them!) I just love their blogs and the ideas they come up with are amazing!

First on the list…

Sew Crazy Monthly Challenge with Crazy Little Projects

Crazy Little Projects Amber is a stay at home mom with 4 boys, who describes herself as a  crazy project doer, who loves it all. She always has a cool project or 2 going, she also does a monthly challenge with a different theme each month.

Jamielyn, is the blogger behind I Heart Nap Time, which shows even with limited time, you can still be creative and have fun doing it!!

D.I.Y. Louisville

D.I.Y. Louisville Craft Cooperative was founded in 2010 by¬†friends Julee Lair and Kim Gillespie. The blog itself is written by Julee. I love their idea about forming a co-op what a way to meet fellow crafters! They have really cool projects with easy to follow how to’s.

These are the blogs I check out when my creativity is running low or I just need a boost! Check them out I think you’ll be happy you did! Until next time, XOXO

Twinkies and Spring Cleaning

It is 60!! Hear that… SIXTY degrees!! Please let this be the beginning of Spring! (Hope springs eternal). With the warmer temps… and the SUN, I’ve been struck by the cleaning bug… walls, baseboards, windows and the like. I have no idea why, but it happens, I throw the windows open, blast the music and dance the house clean. Maybe it’s my way of getting rid of winter. ¬†Closets… drawers nothing is safe. Plus if it’s been stuck in a drawer or a closet, out it goes! Top to bottom, ¬†ceiling fans to carpet and all inbetween. ¬†The Mr. even brought me a new steam cleaner, yay!! Along with a box of Twinkies, hahaha, I mentioned when everybody thought that Twinkies were going to be gone forever that I’d never had one before, and lo and behold… Twinkies are back, and I have to say, they’re not bad.. kind of spongy… but not bad. The boys will really like them I bet.

2014-03-10 10.53.07

HaHa… It works great! And wow was the carpet dirty! But not now, on to the basement..

2014-03-08 15.03.02

Spongy, cream-like filling goodness? The Mr. says they taste just the way he remembers.

2014-03-10 08.59.11

I’m not the only one spring cleaning. Poor guy changing light bulbs.

2014-03-09 20.33.24

My reward for working so hard…. Strawberry-banana smoothie for bedtime snack! Talk about Yum!

That’s all there is for now… Stay tuned for more, until Wednesday. XOXO
